The opportunity most humans never had
The Hadza tribe in Tanzania is one of the last hunter gatherer tribes left on the planet.
If you google them you will find tons of articles describing their diet as plant based. These articles will begrudgingly mention meat at the end of the list of healthy foods they eat.
Based on multiple first hand accounts I have heard from people who have visited them, one being Dr. Paul Saladino of the Fundamental Health Podcast, this couldn’t be further from the truth.
They think, breath, and live meat. The best day of a hunters life is getting a big kill and telling stories to the tribe about it.
The tubers that are apparently a staple food for them, according to desperate plant based advocates, are so fibrous they don’t even swallow them. They chew on them then spit out the fiber.
Anyhow the point I’m getting to is they don’t just eat the meat of animals. They eat the whole thing. Their dogs get some things but they eat almost every organ in every animal they kill.
The liver in particular is prized. It is given to pregnant mothers on purpose because they understand it’s power. It is the privilege of the one who got the kill to distribute it to who he chooses.
I can only imagine what a young hunter feels like when he gets his first kill and gets to give liver to his family and fellow hunters.
They have to work to have access to these nutrient dense foods.
We don’t.
But…we don’t eat them.
There are a lot of downsides for health in our modern environment from contaminants to the presence of super tasty and super unhealthy choices everywhere we look.
But the truth is almost everyone in the western world, with very few exceptions, has access to whatever food we choose in whatever amount we want.
We are part of the first few generations on earth that can tailor our diet to be whatever we choose.
So many people choose not to and that’s the way of the world.
You just have to choose to do it and you can be in the top 1 % of 1% of healthy people in human history.
What’s it gonna be?
